I want to take pictures of lightning. I have read about a few methods that seem to be a bit of a hit and miss. I have cobbled up the following circuit that uses the same connections as the wired remote.
It woks but I would like to know if it could damage the camera. So far the test camera, a D90 has not had any issues with it. However, I value your opinions.

ADDENDUM: I have long since decided that there is no issue with this circuit. I have been using it regularly on my D7000 and D7200.
