Two more questions if you do not mind (slightly off topic though).
My understanding is: ASIC is black box which scans the sensor and mangles data according to registers (processing settings, in a way they are).
1) Are sets of settings stored anywhere in firmware data?
2) Is it theoretically possible for a person with much of free time to find out whether different sets of settings for different processing modes are stored in firmware image and possibly those left there for debugging purposes including those which disable leveling, scaling, cropping?
