leegong's probably taking a rest and spending time with family. He'll most likely get back on track in the new year.

The project is not dead. It's just we're too occupied with other things and too few people working on now.

I met leegong when I got back to my home country last Oct. And he's been busy hacking the lens protocol. Because the lens firmware is impossible to retrieve from the lens MCU, the effort is hard and progress is slow. We have to use other means around to solve this problem. Currently there's a mix of progress and hurdles.

Right now I'm busy testing my first astro-imaging camera using a different cmos sensor. Just successfully got the image last week. But there're some optimization issues needed to be address before I'm distracted. Eventually, probably at the end of Feb, I'll be able to get back on the IMX071 from D5100.

Stay tuned.

A quick update:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1840&p=18490#p18490

The sensor is confirmed to output only 10bit in video mode. Very bad. There's nothing downstream can change that.
