HPS-hack result

I want to start this thread so that any question related to astronomy or the hack could be posted here.

First, I'll show some result from HPS-hack using FFT diagram from 4 color channel in a long exposure from D7000.

Here's the 2 green channels.

Blue channel:

It shows an uniform gray image for the center 1024x1024 pixels, closely resembles the Gaussian noise. In another word, it's an ideal result. To read 2D FFT, see this post. And see what will happen in a long exposure without the hack, see this post.

Red Channel:

If you compare the result from the second link, it's evident that the HPS has been completely shut down. I had see Mode 3 FFT before and the inter pixel noise reduction are still present.

I'll tell ya, it's tough for me to see differences with familiar images hacked...I don't have a clue what the difference is with star fields. What am I seeing or not seeing here? beautiful stuff by the way!

Wow! Okay, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Kudos - beautiful shot!

I do a lot of night sky photography, shooting stars, aurora borealis, that kind of thing so when I see this I want to flash my camera right away!

I take it you're using a telescope to shoot that amazing shot?
