I used the nikon service program to check for recorded errors on my previous D90 bodies and also for pixel remapping. On that particular occasion i found that both sensors had 16-24 pixels with issues already remapped from the factory and that i've only corrected 2-3 of them which bothered me from time to time in certain conditions (i guess no sensor is pixel perfect). I ran the programs inside a winxp vm with usb pass-through enabled to ensure maximum compatibility. There's no manual for pixel remapping. You just hit a button and the program will communicate with the body and perform tests to determine what pixels need to be added to the remapping table and then remaps them as needed, which is pretty awesome - no manual fiddling with it.

I almost wish that I never sold my two beloved D90 bodies, but now I am enjoying the mighty D810.
