D7000 Feature Requests

Postby madderhatter » Tue May 06, 2014 11:17 am

So love the shutter hack on my d3100, but finally got a d7000, and have to shut off live view every time I want to change now is a major pain...my d3100 is actually my preferred choice now for video...so any chance you'll be able to fix the d7000?

36 mbit / 64 mbit D7000

Postby Piddhu » Thu Jul 24, 2014 3:39 am

As already done for the D800, is it possible to have NQ=36mbit and HQ=64Mbit also for the D7000?

Even greater would be to have the possibility to choose for every hackable camera the values for NQ & HQ trough the ones available, but i think it would require a lot of code assembling, so let store that idea for the future :)

D7000 1.3 Colored Lows

Postby zerreth » Sat Nov 15, 2014 12:06 am

I've been running on 1.4 patched for a while now and only discovered today that the 1.3 firmware has more features (including the live view stay on hack which I need).
So I've upgraded/downgraded to 1.3 with everything enabled and 64mbit video. When taking pictures I immediately noticed that the lows are all colored in one way or another depending on the white balance.
I was first shocked thinking this can't be right. After transferring to PC and going over the images in PS, It's actually really nice as it gives it a more "moody" and "vintage" appearance. I somewhat liken it to instagram filters really.
What is the feature causing this ? (picture control == all set to neutral 0)

the jpeg are always processed with the style you have set, and that includes the embedded in a raw photo.

as to which feature you selected that effected the colours off the top of my head I cannot guess which one it would have been.

Hello everybody. I've been looking all over the web. Seems like the D7000 25fps at 1080p is still not possible. Did anyone find a way to work around this except speeding up the video in post? Something that keep the quality of 24 but changes it to 25fps?
Thank you for the tips.

Assign AF-ON to FN button

Postby kevinp1133 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 2:37 pm

On my D7000 I can assign AF-ON to the AF-L button (back button auto focus) but I would really like to be able to auto focus using the FN button. For some reason Nikon doesn't feel that I should be able to do that.

Is it possible to record 720p at 60fps? That is a feature I really want, so I can do some slo-mo work.
Thanks for all the work you have already done...

Wish: Make aftermarket EN-EL15 batteries work!

Postby bobokonijn » Fri Apr 24, 2015 4:09 am

Hello all,

I have recently bought an aftermarket EN-EL15a battery that worked perfectly in my Nikon D7000 (firmware 1.02/1.03 at the time). I made the mistake to upgrade the camera to the latest firmware version (1.04/1.05) and suddenly the battery was no longer recognized. "Downgrading" the camera to the original firmware 1.02/1.03 didn't fix the problem, the battery is still not recognized which very much surprises me. Somehow it is blacklisted internally now. Original batteries work as expected. Since my original battery is in not-so-good condition I may have to spend cash on an original one whicn is 3 times more expensive.

Is there a hack available to disable this aftermarket battery check?
