Nikon Service Software

Postby china8086 » Thu Feb 21, 2013 5:20 am

Admin Note: PLEASE READ:
  1. Read this topic from begining. Most questions already answered, even if for other camera type
  2. Following questions will be deleted without notice: My camera X is not listed ...? My firmware Y is not listed ...? Only included cameras can be supported and Nikon US provide older firmware versions for downgrade.
  3. DO NOT EXPECT OTHERS TO DO JOB FOR YOU ! If you want to carry service job, download repair manual for your cam, read and learn. If not available then download repair manuals for other cams and read (most procedures are similar)

Good advice: do not use this software. Most people are not qualified enough to use it properly and will go for service anyway.

Thanks for the link, this looks *very* promising.

However, I am detecting a Virus in there, so everyone be very careful. I will run these through http://virscan.org/ in a few hours to see what it says.

Edit: I checked out D5100.exe and it came up as having a trojan, but only a few scanners reported it. If this is real, I know which Virus scanners I will be installing by default now :)

+1 for using a virutal machine to contain this if you do decide to check these out.

Can't seem to get D5100 working with serial, i've had D3100 working with camera,
Update ...D5100 working. :)
i surpose you don't have Nikon SDK somewhere. :)

I also have a D5100, is it possible to fix dead or hot pixels, using this tool ?!

Well if we are going to post the tools that use the un-documented PTP API, we might as well document the API functions... thoughts?
