Nikon D5300

Postby JohnFuchs » Sat Apr 23, 2016 10:55 am

Hi,
I loved the patched firmware for the 3200, the 64mb/s just made it so much better!
How ever, I have (today :D) upgraded to the D5300, the ISO performance is just not compareable...
Thoug, I do miss the higher bit rate, is an Update for the D5300 planed?
Thx in adavnce.

I would really appreciate it if someone at nikonhacker could do us a favor and reply questions about models with recently released firmware... however the challenges about the new ARM-based cameras have been mentioned before... but generally is there any hope at all for near future? :handgestures-fingerscrossed:

Is anyone here working on hacking d5300 since the firmware was announced?

And since d5300 is based on ARM processor does it mean that all the hacking procedures have to start all over from ground up again? I mean the progresses made for models like d5100 are useless now for d5300?

Well the D5200 is also ARM so anything the D5200 has could be port to the D5300.

I owned D5200, so am playing with that from a firmware perspective. But again anything worked out should be portable...

As far as plans, that is harder to talk too. I personally have not done much for a year on the camera front as I have been doing other personal interests. I have recently started looking at the D5200 firmware again, as I am annoyed that I have not mastered it... my current focus is more of build tools to help verse mindlessly hand disassembling code. This is more required as the C++ code of the ARM camera is much more convoluted and the simpler C code.

I'd also like to know when can we expect some nice additions for the D5300. It's a very capable camera, with lots of potential capped by Nikon.

Alright!
So, the Firmware for the D5300 has been out for some time now, is there any progress on some advanced features? :)

I have a problem with the Live View, I'm using a capture card to record myself for youtube videos, my problem is that the Live View automatically turns of after 30 minutes.
Is there any way to try to hack the timer so that it never goes off? (This is pretty much my only wish)

Best regards
