custom white balance quick access

was playing around with my d5100 (pressing buttons and stuff).
and apparently it turns out that if you set the white balance on the camera to preset (withing the info screen not the menu) and just hold down the ok button then it will ask you to take the photo to acquire the data for the custom white balance.

not sure if useful information or not, as I did not find this anywhere in the manual.

just searched the manual on pages 84 and around, I did not mean setting the preset white balance from the menus but the info screen.
maybe i missed something...
