Patch Tool v1.4: D5100 Want bigger files?

I've just updated the online patch tool to v1.4 which brings two picture related changes:

Uncompressed NEF files, 33MB every timer verse 14-22MB
Jpeg Quality, up to 12MB verse up to 9MB
The D7000 already has these as menu options, albeit the NEF files are compressed in a lossless format, so are generally 22MB.

Now we just need someone to doing some "real" testing to workout if it's worth it.

At this point I've spent zero effort reviewing D3100 code for applicability.

- the JPEG option improves the 'quality' from e.g. ~98% to ~99%?
- the NEF option disables (lossless) compression alltogether?

Yes, sure if those made up numbers are indicative. Someone may want better quality, but still shooting in jpeg, as it's a standard option on the D7000.

Yes, the RAW 14bit data is stored in the file completely uncompressed. 28MB is the raw data (4992x3289x14/8).

I thought "At this point" was sufficiently retrospective, with zero forward reference intent. Thus in plan English.

I have not looked for this in the D3100 Code, and as of today, I have no plan to look, as I'm chasing other lose threads in the D5100 code base. But I'm open to looking at some point.

I'm not sure what you mean by "missing values", using dcraw, it show the picture dimension, and raw dimensions:
